Description
No. 115 Leaf Piping Tip — 17 mm V-Cut Center Notch, Large, Seamless 304 Stainless Steel
No. 115 is a large leaf tip, and the V-cut across its opening is what makes it work. As the buttercream passes the notch, it leaves a raised ridge down the centre of the leaf — the vein. Squeeze and drag, and you get a leaf with a pointed tip, a visible spine and a natural edge, without touching a knife to it.
What you can pipe with it
- Leaves — pointed rose leaves, tulip leaves and generic foliage with a raised centre vein
- Foliage accents — cluster leaves around piped roses so the arrangement reads as a real bouquet
- Ruffles and borders — the wide opening also pipes a soft, controlled ruffle
- Seasonal work — evergreen styling for holiday cakes and winter designs
Specifications
How to pipe a leaf with No. 115
- Load the bag with green buttercream and hold the tip at roughly 45° to the surface.
- Touch down and squeeze, letting the buttercream build into a small pool.
- Drag toward the leaf tip, releasing pressure near the end so the point comes to a clean tip.
- Ease off and pull away as you reach the end — the V-cut has already formed the central vein.
- Add a subtle wiggle on the way down for a serrated edge, or keep it smooth for a tulip-style leaf.
Piping speeds vary with buttercream consistency; chill the leaves briefly on parchment if they need to hold their shape before lifting onto the cake.
What else you need for a full floral set
Leaves only work if the flowers around them look right. Pair this tip with the No. 104 rose petal tip for realistic roses, the No. 61 curved petal tip for looser peony petals, and the No. 23 grass tip for fur and grass texture.
Why seamless 304 stainless steel
- Drawn from a single piece — no welded seam for icing to collect in, and no joint where corrosion starts
- The V-notch is cut cleanly, so the vein stays sharp instead of ragged
- Heavy-duty wall that holds its shape when you press hard into drag strokes
- Uncoated, so there is no surface layer that can wear off

FAQ
What is a No. 115 tip used for? Piping leaves and foliage with a raised centre vein, plus soft ruffles and borders.
Is it a leaf tip or a petal tip? It is a leaf tip. The single V-cut opening pipes a leaf shape with a vein — petal tips, by contrast, have a smooth teardrop or curved slit opening for flower petals.
How do I get the vein to show? The V-notch forms it automatically. Hold the tip at about 45°, squeeze and drag — do not lift the tip away from the surface as you go.
What size is it? Top exit 17 mm, height 43 mm, base 25 mm — a large (L) class tip.
Can I order it with the rose tips? Yes. Mixed containers are accepted, so you can combine leaf, petal and grass tips in one order.
Can I order a sample? Yes. Send the quantity and destination and we will quote.
