Description
A giant swirl closed star tip for twisted, soft-serve style swirls
No. C10 is a giant swirl closed star piping tip in seamless 304 stainless steel. Its 20 mm opening is cut with curved, spiral-leaning teeth rather than straight ones, so the icing leaves the tip already twisted: pipe straight down and you get a soft-serve style rope, work a spiral and the grooves stack into a sculpted dome. That is the difference between No. C10 and an ordinary giant closed star tip — the twist is in the geometry, not in the wrist.
It is drawn as one seamless piece with no welded joint, so there is no seam for icing to catch on and nothing to discolour at the base. At 49 mm tall with a 34 mm base it is a large-format tip, sized for 1M-class volumes: one pass where a medium tip would need two or three. The tip number is stamped on the body so your next reorder matches this one exactly. Made in our own factory in Yangjiang, Guangdong, and available for wholesale, OEM and private label.

What you can pipe with No. C10
- Ice cream cones and soft-serve swirls — one pass fills a waffle cone with a twisted, machine-style rope for dessert menus, food trucks and event catering. A 20 mm opening means you are not layering three passes to build height.
- Cupcake domes and rosettes — the spiral teeth read as movement, so a plain buttercream dome looks finished without a single extra decoration.
- Meringue zephyrs and kisses — the wide opening takes a stiff meringue without stalling the bag, and the twisted ridge holds through the bake instead of slumping into a blob.
- Hydrangea and multi-drop domes — squeeze, stop, lift, repeat around the crown of the cupcake; the curved teeth leave a petal-like imprint that reads as a hydrangea cluster from arm’s length.
- Borders and celebration cakes — a twisted rope border around a tier, fast enough for volume work and clean enough for a display case.
How No. C10 compares with other star tips
| Tip | Opening | Size class | Top exit | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| No. C10 (this listing) | Closed star, spiral swirl teeth | Large (XXL) | 20 mm | Twisted soft-serve swirls, cupcake domes, hydrangea work, meringue zephyrs |
| No. 899 | Closed star, 6 straight closed teeth | Large (XXL) | 22 mm | Straight-ridged big swirls, meringue zephyrs, waffle-cone ice cream |
| No. 2D | 6-cut inward closed star | Large (L) | — | Bold 6-petal drop flowers, flat rose swirls |
| No. 336 | 8-cut closed star (large rose) | Large (L) | — | Full blooming buttercream roses, multi-petal drop flowers |
| No. 853 | Deep curved closed star | Medium (M) | 13 mm | Finer ridges for cupcakes, meringue kisses, marshmallows |
| No. 1G | 10-ray closed star | Large (L) | — | Dense multi-ridge star work, churros, choux |
No. C10 and No. 899 are the same size class and almost the same footprint — 20 mm versus 22 mm across the opening, 34 mm versus 35 mm at the base — so the choice is never about size. It is about the shape of the ridge. No. 899 cuts six straight teeth and leaves parallel ridges; No. C10 cuts curved, spiral-leaning teeth and leaves a twisted ridge. Many kitchens stock both: 899 for straight, architectural swirls, C10 for soft-serve cones and hydrangea work where the twist is the point. Frequently asked questions
What is a swirl closed star tip used for?
It is the tip you reach for when the swirl itself is the product: soft-serve style ice cream cones, twisted cupcake domes, meringue zephyrs, hydrangea clusters and rope borders. The curved teeth pre-twist the icing as it leaves the opening, so the twist stays in the piped shape instead of relaxing out.
What is the difference between No. C10 and No. 899?
Both are Large (XXL) giant closed star tips and the footprints are close — No. C10 is 20 mm across the opening on a 34 mm base, No. 899 is 22 mm on a 35 mm base. The difference is the cut: No. 899 has six straight teeth and leaves parallel ridges, while No. C10 has curved, spiral-leaning teeth and leaves a twisted ridge. Choose 899 for straight architectural swirls and C10 for soft-serve cones and hydrangea work.
Does No. C10 fit a standard coupler?
Its base is 34 mm (1.34 in), wider than the 25 mm seat on a standard coupler. Use a large-format coupler, or drop the tip straight into the bag and cut the bag to fit — which is how most high-volume decorators run a tip this size anyway. If you want us to confirm the fit against the coupler you already use, send us the brand and model and we will check it for you.
Is No. C10 dishwasher safe?
Yes. Because it is drawn as one seamless piece rather than assembled from welded parts, there is no joint where icing can harden, and it can go straight into a commercial wash cycle. A soak and a rinse under the tap is usually enough for everyday use.
What is the minimum order for No. C10?
12 pcs per SKU for the standard tip, and from 500 pcs if you want your own logo, tip number or retail packaging. Tier pricing is quoted per order and we reply within 24 hours.
Can I mix No. C10 with other tips in one order?
Yes. Mixed-SKU and mixed-container orders are standard for us, so a single carton can carry medium tips, large tips and couplers together. Send the full list and we will quote it as one shipment.
